Making Posters

Our classes have been working with some high school students this week. The high school students were helping them to research the animal their class selected and then they are helping them make a video. They also helped them to make posters to hang up around the school with what they learned.

Making a poster about the Red Panda was fun!

We used our markers to make our posters colorful so everyone could see them.

Here are a few of the posters.

The kindergarten and their high school partners got to hang
them around the school.

Mrs. DeVries' and Mrs. Neuman's Class Graph

Mrs. DeVries' class is drawing a picture and writing the name of the
endangered animal they would like to vote for.

When their drawings were done, the kids placed their pictures on the graph to
determine which animal had the most votes.

The Snow Leopard had the most votes in Mrs. DeVries' class.
The Red Panda wins in Mrs. Neuman's Class.

Endangered Animals!

Now that we have learned a lot about extinct animals it's time we move on to endangered animals. We spent a lot of time talking about what an endangered animal is and how we could help to try and save them. We learned a lot about different endangered animals by reading different books. One of the books we read was Panda Bear, Panda Bear What Do You See?  The book is full of endangered animals.

After reading this story our students made their own book called Endangered Animals, Endangered Animals, What Do You See?  Here are some of the pages from Mrs. Neuman's class book.
"giant anteater"
"beluga sturgeon"
"giant panda"

"eastern black rhino"

"snow leopard"

Mrs. Erickson's class had a traveling panda in their room.  The students got to take the
panda home and write in the journal about his adventures with each student.
